Saturn, the Roman God of agriculture, wealth and war. His Greek mythology counterpart was a Titan (child of earth) known as Cronus. His thirst for universal power lead him to an unfortunate fate, ultimately sanctioned by his son Jeus as a means to protect the people. This painting isn’t so much about Saturn/Cronus, as its more so about their wives Ops; Goddess of Abundance and Lua; Goddess of Destruction. A war of balance. “Cronus” in Greek is defined as time, the one that governs us all. Ultimately, a depiction of two going their own ways at the mercy of the influences between the heart & mind.
