Boris Atev

Boris Atev (a.1982) is a London based sculptor artist who specialises in both figurative and abstract constructed wood and bronze sculpture exquisitely finished to a very high standard. Born in Sevlievo/Bulgaria, he studied woodcarving and sculpture in Art School Tryavna and later on in The National Academy of Arts in the capital of Bulgaria-Sofia (2002-2006) Living close to the nature he have been always inspired by it, its completeness, and beauty - found in its simplest forms. He looks to emulate nature portraying the contrasting and opposing sharp and soft shapes, textures and surfaces through highly polished and organic texture and forms.His striking and elegant forms are achieved through his diverse range of hand crafted skills and utilising different media and techniques such as carving,sculpting, casting, as well as direct manipulation and fabrication in Bronze. In this, Boris is a quite unique artist, as each piece has been produced soley by the artist from conception to the finished form ensuring its utmost integrity.
